Moving for Connection

MOVING FOR CONNECTION (MFC)
Monthly online open-group Somatic-Centered Movement Classes
12 total classes - donation-based

A flow exploring moving. These series of classes are about feeling better in our body and being more present in our lives. A flow that integrates yoga and somatic practices designed to move you towards more ease within your nervous system. This is a unique opportunity to experience a healing movement practice led by three facilitators deeply committed to creating greater mental-emotional well being in the world.

Do you want to experience connection to yourself, in community, while supporting trauma-recovery work?

Key Principles of MFC Classes:

  • Follow your instincts

  • Each posture is an an exploration

  • Honor your body, your pace, and let your breath guide your movement

  • There is no goal to achieve

  • Listen to the cues you receive from your body, mind, and breath about the state of your nervous system

  • Have fun as you bring online playfulness

  • Stop and rest as often as you need

  • Let this practice nourish you whole

“Movement helps us anchor more deeply in connection.”
— Djinane AlSuwayeh

In 2022 the “Moving for Connection & Social Justice” project raised enough to initiate KYOKAN FOUNDATION in India’s Kasba Ballygunge slums in South Kolkata, helping 100 kids in socio-emotional learning and addressing resilience through somatic practices including movement, yoga, storytelling and art. In 2023 we continued as a bigger community to support these kids and their families. A big thank you to those who joined us!
