#Everybodyknows is a personal study of my cross-cultural experience, addressing conformity to gender role norms; hegemonic masculinity, self-stigma and attitudes dictated by a dominant traditional culture. I photographed men in both my cultural contexts, using powder as a fresh, clean and absorbent metaphor to what it is to be human, making the journey of the tear more striking. The tag captures the sense of an ending; curtains are removed, we can now agree that #everybodyknows men cry.
